How do we send the plants?
Share
When you buy from our online carnivorous plant shop, we want the excitement you feel when placing your order to remain intact until you open the box. That is why we take great care with every step of the preparation and packing process. Today, we will tell you, step by step, how we work each week to ensure your plants arrive healthy, safe, and ready to keep growing.
1. Order organization
Every Monday at 9 in the morning, we start the week by printing all the orders received during the previous days.
We check each one to make sure all the details are correct: selected plants, shipping address, customer notes, and so on.
Once everything is verified, we head to the nursery, where we have our greenhouse and the growing tables with the plants.
2. Careful selection of each plant
Monday is almost entirely dedicated to preparing shipments.
We work order by order:
- We take one tray per order.
- We walk through the greenhouse selecting the best specimens for each requested plant.
- We check their condition, color, vigor, and moisture of the soil.
Our goal is for you to receive strong, well-established plants, ready to adapt to their new home.

3. Shipping in pots, whenever possible
Whenever we can, we send the plants in their own pots. This reduces transplant shock and eases adaptation.
To prevent the soil from spilling during transport, we prepare them very carefully:
- We wrap each pot individually with paper.
- We fully cover the soil and the top of the pot.
- We secure the paper tightly so that it stays firm and the plant can even be turned upside down without the soil spilling out.
This step is key to ensuring the plant arrives in perfect condition, even if the package experiences some rough handling during the journey.

4. Protection and moisture during transport
Once wrapped, we place the plants inside a bag.
This bag has two main functions:
- To keep moisture around the plant during the journey.
- To prevent water or moisture from coming into direct contact with the cardboard box, so it does not soften or break.
Afterwards, we add padding material to cushion the inside of the box well. This way, the plants remain immobilized and better protected against shocks.
Whenever possible, we reuse old newspapers and magazines as padding material, giving these papers a second life and reducing waste.

5. Details that accompany your plants
Before closing the box, we add some extras that we believe make a difference:
- A shop card.
- A care sheet with basic information so you know how to look after your new carnivorous plant.
- A discount code for your next purchase.
- The delivery note, so you can check that everything has arrived correctly.
The formal invoice is sent a few days later by email, once the customer has received the package.

6. Support after delivery
Our work does not end when we close the box.
After shipping, we remain at your disposal for any questions you may have:
- We help you with the first care steps.
- We guide you on watering, light, and soils.
- And if something has not arrived as it should, we look for the best possible solution with you.
We love staying in touch and seeing how your little plants grow, so you can always write to us to share photos or ask anything.
Conclusion
Behind every order are many small decisions and care steps designed so your carnivorous plants travel as safely as possible. From selection in the greenhouse to the last piece of padding paper, the whole process is designed so that when you open the box, you feel your plants have just come from the nursery.
If you are curious about any part of the process or would like us to share more details about growing in the greenhouse, we would be happy to prepare another article.
